South Island leg on the move

This coming summer (2017-18) will see the South Island leg of the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series on the move to Nelson! We’ve been taking to the open water in Christchurch for the past 10 years and it’s been a blast so let’s give another southern city the opportunity to host an incredible event for swimmers from all over the country.

Karena Finnie, Christchurch City Council’s Manager of Events and Arts, says “Hosting a swimming event like this for the past decade has been a great way to get Cantabrians active in open water swimming. Christchurch is renowned for being a great host, and we’re delighted to have held the New Zealand Ocean Swim Series here in the South Island for such a long time. This event has certainly enabled so many people of all ages and abilities to take to the water to achieve their personal swimming goals.”

Our heartfelt thanks to Christchurch City Council, local sponsors, swimmers and spectators for all their enthusiasm and support over the past decade.
