Regardless whether you come in first or second to last (maybe even if you come flat last too), you’ll feel like royalty as you gracefully glide up the beach and under the finish line at the King of the Bays. Why? Because, you have conquered the noble challenge of a classic open water swim in the stately surrounds of Takapuna Beach. With Rangitoto watching your every stroke, along with the large safety contingent of life guards from Surf Life Saving New Zealand, the stunning scene leaves you poised to see off summer in style.
The King of the Bays, on Saturday 8th April, offers the full suite of event distances including the ‘Tag Team Relay’, meaning there’s absolutely a swim (or two) to fit your level of awesomeness.
Are you a chlorine junky new to swimming in the briny blue ocean? This is the perfect time and place to dip your toes in the good stuff. A safe and reassuring environment will ensure your confidence grows and your personal challenge is ticked off in style!
Do you have friends, family or work colleagues? Can they swim?
The stars have aligned because we now have a fun-filled event for you and your buddies to take part in together as a team – the ‘Tag Team Relay’! Click here to find out more and double the good times at this year’s King of the Bays.
