Is your bucket list a little light, or heaven forbid, empty? It’s no coincidence the Harbour Crossing is a world renowned ‘bucket list’ event which attracts participants ‘the world over’ each year – this is one unique and jolly good swim!

Swimming across the Auckland Harbour is only possible one morning a year – don’t miss your opportunity. The perfect chance to set yourself a challenging goal that through training and the motivation to succeed – will have a hugely positive impact on your life.

This season we’ve reversed the direction of the course – with the start in the Auckland Viaduct, and finish at Quinton Park, Bayswater. We reckon this change of direction is going to be a heap of fun, plus it opens up even more parking options with ferry passes available before and after the event!

Nervous about taking to the open water? Don’t be – we have an enormous and talented support team on the water who are right there with you for your every stroke from Surf Life Saving NZ to the Harbour Master, Coastguard, patrol vessels and the NZ Police, our safety planning will provide you piece of mind and confidence whilst in the water.

  • Timing Chip and Strap
  • Silicone Swim Cap (that you must wear for the event)

Contingency Courses

A decision will be made by the Race Director in conjunction with Surf Life Saving NZ

In the event of weather that prevents the swim from being able to cross the Harbour safely the swim will move to a smaller 2km course in Shoal Bay, starting at Quinton Park. The briefing will take place at the finish line in Quinton Park. If this decision is made you will be informed first thing on the event morning by email / text and on our website & Facebook page.
