Congratulations to Levin Masters Swimming Club who recently celebrated 40 years of their incorporation, making them one of the oldest Masters Swim clubs in New Zealand.

With only a small membership of about 25, they make sure they are actively involved in supporting and encouraging their athletes by organising club escapades to events around the country and offshore.

This year, they chose the Generation Homes Legend of the Lake swim in Rotorua to push themselves outside their comfort zone of the calm pool and familiar black line.

To those new to open water swimming it was quite an experience, to the triathletes and ‘old hands’ it was another chance to swim in a stunning location.

The beautiful Blue Lake, native bush enveloping the shoreline and fresh, clear, sparkling water… what could be more spectacular for your first foray into open water adventures?

The team of 13 had 4 events to choose from, allowing them to embark on a challenge suitable to their individual ability.

Three swimmers took on the 3.5km Round the Lake, Patrons Lesley and Ron Parkin at 70+ completed the Rotovegas 1000m, with their children and grandchildren enjoying the swims and the Amphibian.

What a way to celebrate an anniversary – thanks for choosing the Banana Boat Ocean Swim Series.
