Meet Brad Dixon….
Brad is a brand new swimmer to our series but no stranger to Ocean Swimming! He is a proud father of two beautiful daughters, husband to an amazing wife, and a holistic physiotherapist, writer, and wellness coach based in stunning Mt. Maunganui. His mission is to promote expansive wellness daily habits that benefit individual wellness, community wellbeing, and a healthy planet.
How long have you been swimming? | Started with swimming lessons at 4 years of age, then triathlon racing, now open water swimming and squad swimming with the Omanu masters for the pure love of it. |
What’s your favourite event in the series? | Mt. Maunganui |
Why that one? | My home town, and it's simply beautiful and a great chance to promote the area. |
What is your favourite pre-race snack? | Soaked oats with frozen blueberries, chia seeds, cacao, and oat milk |
What song is on your raceday music playlist? | Oh Lord by NF |
What do you hope to achieve by becoming a Swimfluencer? | The promotion of swimming (all year round - cold water is very beneficial for wellness) for individual wellbeing, and to promote a lifestyle that protects our oceans and lakes. healthy moana, healthy whanau, healthy whenua. It's all linked |
If you had ONE PIECE of advice for a new ocean swimmer - what would it be? | Find some swim buddies and schedule swimming in as often as able. Stack the benefits of swimming in our natural world, with motivating people for expansive wellness. |
