Not content with having just done a 40km swim across Lake Taupo (13 hours non-stop), Rotorua 59 year old Pam Dickson is gearing up for the 2012 State NZ Ocean Swim Series.
The nationwide six event series enables recreational swimmers of all ability levels to join in the same event as some of Australasia’s elite swimmers.
Dickson is no stranger to the iconic swim series and her image even dons promotional posters for the series this year although Dickson is quick to point out that she is far more interested in swimming than a professional modeling career!
Dickson is using the State Ocean Swim Series as training for her attempt to swim the English Channel 26th August 2013 which will make her the oldest New Zealander to do so. She will be almost 60 then (there are only 13 people older than her who have made it across the English Channel).
Pam Dickson is a proud granny of 10!
